Infection Control

Person putting on plastic gloves

At St. Raphael’s Dental Care we take precautions to protect our patients and our team from infection. Our infection control procedures minimize the spread of harmful pathogens in our office.

Our staff wear gloves whenever examining patients – the gloves are changed for every patient and our team members wash their hands before and after removing their gloves. We also wear protective eyewear and masks.

All instruments are sprayed with disinfectant and sent to our Sterilization Centre after each use. We also use many sterile disposable materials. Finally, countertops and surfaces are regularly cleaned and sanitized with disinfectant products.

To ensure your safety, we do regular testing for bacterial spores and other pathogens and adhere to the Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC) Dental Office Best Practices and Guidelines to monitor and control infections in our environment.
